How to Preview Guided Onboarding
Preview Guided Onboarding to see exactly what your payees will experience before you send them an invitation. The preview reflects your current onboarding setup, including the Additional Information questions your payees will be asked. Use it to confirm your configuration looks right or to get familiar with the payee experience.
Who Can Use It:
- To open the preview from the invitation window: you need permission to send invitations.
- To open the preview from the link in this article: you only need a PaymentWorks account.
Open the Preview from the Invitation Window
- Go to Vendor Master Updates > Onboarding Tracker.
- Click Send Invitation.
- Select a Form Type, if your organization uses more than one.
- Click Preview Guided Onboarding.

The preview opens in a new window.

Note: If your organization uses more than one form type, you must pick one before you can open the preview. The preview shows the experience for the form type you select.
Open the Preview from a Direct Link
- Click Preview Guided Onboarding. The preview opens in a new window.

Note: Preview links expire 365 days after they are created. If a link has expired, you'll see a message instead of the preview. Ask someone at your organization with permission to send invitations to generate a new link.
Understand How the Preview Works
- See your current setup. The preview always matches your organization's current onboarding configuration for the selected form type. If your setup changes, the preview updates to match.
- Try it without side effects. No invitation is sent and no records are created when you use the preview.
- Keep your answers private. Anything you enter in the preview is saved to your PaymentWorks account, not to the link. If you share the link with a colleague, they start with their own blank preview.
Move Through the Preview
Guided Onboarding adapts to each payee's answers. Some sections only appear based on responses given earlier in the flow, so the preview follows the same step-by-step path your payees take.
To see later sections, answer the earlier questions the way a payee would. Your answers are saved, so you can pick up where you left off the next time you open the preview.
Tip: To see how the experience changes for different types of payees, go back and change your earlier answers. For example, choose a different tax classification or bank country.
