July 2026 Release Notes

This month's release focuses on strengthening bank account validation and profile data accuracy, with new global bank account verification, expanded sanctions and version history visibility, and a handful of quality-of-life improvements across Profile Manager.

New Features

Profile Manager

  • Locations & Banking: Introducing Global Bank Account Validation. When a vendor submits or updates their bank account information, PaymentWorks now automatically verifies that the vendor is associated with that account, checking legal name or Tax ID depending on the vendor's country. Results appear as Account Status and Ownership Verification on the Locations & Banking tab, giving your team a clear view of validation status before processing payment. Coverage varies by country: some support full ownership validation, some offer partial coverage, and some aren't yet supported, in which case payments proceed without this check. This is enabled automatically for all customers, no action is required, and it applies to all new and updated bank account submissions going forward.

Enhancements

Profile Manager

  • Profile Data: Sanctions List Reporting has a refreshed look that makes it easy to see screening status at a glance, whether a check is in progress, no alerts were found, an error occurred, or alerts were found. Sanctions results on a profile now reflect the most current sanctions status once the profile is connected, rather than only showing the status from the original submission. The profile PDF download now includes additional standardized fields (Passport/Visa, Insurance, Payment Method/Term, Conflicts of Interest, Purchase Order Contact) and is organized to match the layout you see on screen. Fields you add when sending a payee invitation now appear in their own "Initiator Fields" section on the profile, nested within Connection Information, making them easier to find.
  • Locations & Banking: Bank verification results now clearly show "Bank country not supported" when a bank's country isn't yet covered, instead of a generic error, so it's easier to understand what's happening. Bank screening status is now shown consistently whether you're viewing the current submission or looking back through version history.
  • Version History: Connected profiles now include a Version 0 in Version History, showing exactly how the profile looked at the time of submission, before any approvals were applied. You can now download a profile PDF for a specific version, matching whichever version you're currently viewing in Version History.
  • Tags: The tag entry field is now automatically focused when you click "Add Tag," so you can start typing right away.
  • Profiles List: You can now download non-location data change updates for additional standard fields, including Payment Method/Term, Insurance, Passport/Visa, and Purchase Order Contact.

General

  • Payees connecting a remittance or order address are now alerted if required contact information is missing, with the option to add it on the spot or choose a different address. A new column also flags addresses missing contact info directly in the address table.

Behavior Changes

These updates change how existing functionality works as a result of intentional design decisions.

Profile Manager

  • Data Changes: Data changes tied to standard fields (Passport/Visa, Purchase Order Contact, Payment Method/Term, Insurance, and similar) no longer show separate Approve or Reject options. Their status now follows the related standard field update automatically.

General

  • For countries where IBAN is supported, IBAN is now the required way to enter a bank account, and other entry methods are no longer available. A BIC/SWIFT code is also required alongside the IBAN and is validated together with it before the account can be saved.

Bug Fixes

Profile Manager

  • Profile Data: Fixed an issue where tax validation results weren't displaying on profiles using an ITIN tax ID. Validation now displays correctly for SSN, EIN, and ITIN tax ID types.
  • Locations & Banking: Fixed an issue where the remit-to contact field wasn't displaying on locations. It now appears above the location's address.
  • Tags: Fixed an issue where some users encountered an error when trying to remove a tag.

Performance & Reliability

Profile Manager

  • Profiles List: Improved load times across the Profiles List, both with and without filters applied, including when paging through results.

Looking Ahead

Note: We will begin work on moving Onboarding Tracker into the NextGen side of the platform. This effort is aimed at streamlining processes and modernizing your experience. Once ready, we intend to make this new Onboarding Manager available to try out while maintaining full uninterrupted access to the Classic Onboarding Tracker.
