Release Date: August and September 2026
New Features
Onboarding Manager
- Preview Guided Onboarding: You can now see exactly what your vendors will experience before you send an invitation. Open the preview from the invitation window by selecting Preview Guided Onboarding, or share it using a direct link. The preview reflects your current onboarding configuration, so you see the same questions, payment options, and custom fields your vendors will see.
Enhancements
Payee Profile
- Shared Address Warnings: Vendors can now see how many of their customers use a remittance address before they make changes to it. The Addresses & Bank Accounts table shows a connection count for each address, including any pending connections, and the address details list each connected customer. When a vendor saves a change to an address shared with one or more customers, a confirmation message explains that the update will apply to all of them and offers the option to create a new address instead. This helps prevent unintended changes, such as a new bank account, from reaching every customer at once.
- Passport and Visa Details: Vendors who are non-US individuals now always see a Passport / Visa section in their profile. When the section applies, it opens automatically and shows whether passport and visa details are required based on whether the vendor will perform services in the US. When it doesn't apply, a short note explains why. This makes these fields much easier to find.
Quick Connect
- Clearer Bank Account Guidance: When a vendor chooses a payment method that requires a bank account, such as ACH, Wire, or EarlyPay, for an address that doesn't have one, a pop-up message now explains what's needed. Vendors can link a bank account to the address, choose a different address that already has one, pick a payment method that doesn't need a bank account, or create a new remittance address. This replaces a small notice at the bottom of the page that was easy to miss.
Payment Method Configuration
- Payment Method Gaps Panel: A new panel on the Payment Method Configuration page lets you know when your setup leaves a combination of vendor type, tax country, and bank location without any payment method to choose from. The panel updates automatically as you edit and save your display conditions, and an optional coverage view makes it easy to scan your full setup. The panel is informational only and won't change your configuration, since some gaps may be intentional. Closing these gaps helps ensure every vendor can select a payment method when they submit their profile.
Navigation
- Unread Message Indicator: The Messages icon in the navigation bar now shows how many unread messages you have. The indicator clears automatically once you've read them all.
Behavior Changes
These updates change how existing functionality works as a result of intentional design decisions.
Payee Profile
- Updated W-9 Signature Wording: The signature line on W-9 forms generated through PaymentWorks now reads "Electronically signed by [Name] on [Date/Time] via their PaymentWorks account." This makes it clear that the vendor certified the form themselves. Nothing about how W-9s are signed has changed. This is a wording update for clarity.
Bug Fixes
Profile Manager
- Profile Data: Fixed an issue where the "Has Foreign Partners, Owners, and Beneficiaries" field was not showing on vendor profiles. You'll now see this field for vendors with a partnership, LLC taxed as partnership, or trust/estate tax classification.
- Profile Data: Fixed an issue where you couldn't copy a vendor's website address from the Primary Contact section. You can now highlight the link to copy it or right-click to copy the link address.
- Locations & Banking: Fixed an issue where only validated addresses showed a validation status. Addresses that couldn't be validated now display the Unable to Validate Address indicator as well.
- Data Changes: Fixed an issue where the Review Screening Report button was missing from company information updates that had sanctions alerts.
Browser Compatibility
- Saving in Safari: Some Safari users were unable to save their work because of a browser privacy setting called Cross-Site Tracking Prevention. Since this setting is controlled by the browser, affected users now see a clear message explaining what's happening, with steps to turn off the setting or switch to Chrome or Firefox.
Looking Ahead
We're continuing to strengthen how W-9 forms are signed and certified. Over the coming months, look for a dedicated review-and-sign step before submission, a detailed signature record showing who signed and when, and a prompt for vendors to re-certify if their tax information changes.
We're also planning improvements to Payment Method Configuration that will make it easier to set up complete payment options for every vendor from the start.
