During the PaymentWorks guided onboarding and quick connect process, you will encounter three types of questions: Global vs. Customer-specific fields. Understanding the difference between these field types is crucial for successfully completing your registration and addressing any questions you may have.
Global - Standard - Fields
Global Standard fields are the fields required by PaymentWorks for all payees to create and maintain their profiles. These fields ensure secure validation and compliance with platform requirements.
- Examples of Global Standard Fields:
- Legal / DBA (doing business as) Name
- Tax Identification Number (TIN/EIN/SSN)
- Banking Information
- Remittance Address
- Corporate Address
- Purpose:
- Global Standard Fields are universal across all customers and necessary for verifying your identity, facilitating payments, and ensuring the security of your profile.

Global - Conditional - Fields
Global Conditional fields are the fields available to all payees but are only required when applicable to your business or situation.
- Examples of Global Conditional fields:
- Purchase Order Information
- Insurance Liability Certificates / Accord Forms.
- Purpose:
- Global conditional fields are standard fields across all payees however they are only required for you to provide if your situation deems it necessary. The more information you provide the quicker and easier your approval and payments processing will become.

Customer-Specific Fields
Custom fields are additional fields defined by your customer to collect information specific to their organization’s requirements.
- Examples of Custom Fields:
- Business License Number
- 1099 Information
- Diversity Certifications

- Contract Reference Numbers
- Student ID..etc
- Purpose:
- These fields allow your customer to gather specific details needed for compliance, tax reporting, or internal processes.
